Homenaje en Lauro Golf a la popular bailaora Mariquilla

El pasado sábado 26 de enero tuvo lugar en Lauro Golf un homenaje a la popular bailaora Mariquilla, conocida por todos los aficionados al flamenco de Málaga por sus enormes éxitos, entre otros lugares en el tablao “Jaleo” de Torremolinos. Más de 50 personas se congregaron para homenajear a Mariquilla y su marido, el mundo de la prensa, amigos y flamencos. Entre los presentes algunos conocidos como Carrete y el popular Chiquito de la Calzada, quien se convirtió enseguida en el alma de la fiesta.

Chiquito justificó su pequeño retraso comentando que se había dado cuenta que estaban perdidos “cuando vio un cartel de bienvenidos a Barcelona” siguiendo con una multitud de anécdotas e historias que hicieron las delicias de los asistentes e incluso de algunos jugadores que al verle decidieron interrumpir su partida para atender sus anécdotas.

Mariquilla hizo una gira con muchísimo éxito por Japón llevándose consigo a todo su cuadro flamenco, entre los que se encontraba el popular Chiquito, que por entonces era cantaor. Muchas historias de aquella gira protagonizaron el homenaje, como aquella en la que Chiquito saludaba varias veces al mismo japonés porque no sabía si era el mismo u otro que se le parecía mucho.

Tanto Mariquilla como el humorista prometieron al finalizar la comida volver a Lauro Golf para aprender nuestro deporte. Además Mariquilla quiso agradecer a todos los compañeros flamencos su apoyo compartiendo el éxito de su carrera con ellos, éxito que sigue cosechando desde Granada enseñando a nuevas generaciones de bailaores todo el arte que el flamenco tiene.

Last Saturday January 26th  Lauro Golf  wished to pay homage to the popular Spanish dancer “Mariquilla” well known by all Málaga flamenco lovers for her great success amongst others in “tablao Jaleo” in Torremolinos. More than 50 people gathered to pay tribute to Mariquilla and her husband amongst media people, friends and flamenco.

Between those present well known faces such as Carrete and Chiquito de la Calzada and he became the party host.

Chiquito justified his delay, because he only released they were lost when he saw a sign “Welcome to Barcelona” this was followed by a great number of anecdotes and stories that caused much merriment amongst those present and also some players who decided to interrupt their game just to listen to Chiquito`s tales.

Mariquilla held a highly successful tour in Japan, taking with her whole flamenco Company where we find Chiquito who at the time was “cantaor”(the singer)

Many tales from this tour were the main aspects of the homage such as the time when Chiquito welcamed many times the same japanese gentlemen as he did not know if he was the same one or another that looked just like him.

Both Mariquilla and the comedian promesed at the end of the meal to come back to Lauro Golf and learn to play our sport.

Mariquilla also wish to thank all her flamenco companions their support, sharing her success with them, success she still has from Granada where she teaches a new generation of flamenco dancers all the art flamenco has.
