Big international and flamenco party in the XIX Danish Constitution Tournament at Lauro Golf
Spanish and international art fusion demonstration gathered together in the Great Danish Constitution Day celebrated in Lauro Golf last Sunday June 05th, where all times songs and flamenco artists were the protagonists of this great event. The Irish singer and guitarist Paddy Mac together with a fantastic flamenco group were in charge of entertaining the participants during the fabulous buffet lunch prepared by Mama Restaurant Luchia Golf. It's been already 19 years since the first issue of this tournament, celebrated the same year of the opening of the club, making it the oldest tournament in Lauro Golf. Its aim apart from offering a great day of Golfing is to bring together the Danish community within the Andalusian Golf area.
Despite of the hot weather, the conditions of the tournament were fantastic: lots of participants, nearly a hundred of players, and an excellent organization. The modality was individual Stableford, with four categories according to handicap: two Danish categories and two for the rest of nationalities with three prices each, four prices for the nearest to the pin and prices for the longest drive.
The president of Lauro Golf, Tove María Pedersen, a Dane herself, was the person in charge of the organization of the tournament together with the caddy masters of Lauro Golf. Since early in the morning she was welcoming all the players at Lauro Golf patio, which was decorated with Danish flags.
The festive music and the flamenco show entertained the players whilst they were having their buffet-lunch, just before the prize giving ceremony and the following raffle. Ceremony conducted by the President Tove Pedersen and the just retired Danish Vice Consulate of Spain Annette Sahlertz de Fernández, who gave a little speech thanking the club and the organization for this tribute to the Danish people, she also mentioned the unfortunate demise of one of the world's top golfers Seve Ballesteros and concluded with the Danish hymn sung by participants and guests.
The main sponsor of the tournament was the Nordea bank who offered numerous prices.
