XVIII Danish Constitution Tournament

On last Sunday the 6th of June Lauro Golf celebrated for the 18th time the Day of Danish Constitution. This competition has been celebrated since the opening of the club making it the oldest tournament in Lauro Golf and its main aim  apart from offering a great day of golfing is to bring together the Danish community within the Andalusian Golf area. Despite of the hot weather the conditions of the tournament were fantastic: lots of participants, nearly a hundred of players, and an excellent organization. The president of the competitions committee of Lauro Golf, Tove María Pedersen, a Dane herself, was the person in charge of the organization of the tournament together with the caddy masters of Lauro Golf. Since early in the morning she was welcoming all the players on the patio of Lauro Golf decorated with  Danish flags.

Musician Paddy Mac entertained the players whilst they were having their buffet lunch  prepared by Restaurant Mama Luchía Lauro Golf, which was also attended by the Danish Vice Consulate of Spain Annette Sahlertz de Fernández.
The ambient during the competition as well as the lunch was very happy and enjoyable.
Nordea Bank, Daily Sports, Aquapool, Restaurante Mama Luchía, Guadalhorce Golf Club, Baviera Golf and Lauro Golf sponsored the event with various prices.

In the competition there were four categories in total, two for Danes and two for other nationalities. Despite of the hot weather some really good scores were made by the participants. An especial note must be made of Mr Juan Antonio Ruiz Bataná with a handicap 4 who made an incredible score of 45 points, completing the round with 67 shots, his score being 5 under par.

The prize giving was carried out by “Tove”, as she is familiarly known by everyone in the club and Annette Sahlertz de Fernández. There were 3 prices in each category and eight prices for nearest the pin and a price for longest drive.
