V QUEEN ELIZABETH CUP IN LAURO GOLF
On Saturday 23rd of May the big British event of the year was held at Lauro Golf. This was the fifth edition of the “Queen Elizabeth Cup”, even though the day started rainy and cloudy, luckily short after the start of the tournament, the weather helped letting the players enjoy a very nice and warm sun. The Queen Elizabeth’s Cup has always boasted of the fantastic atmosphere breathed in every competition celebrated at the Golf Club of Alhaurin de la Torre.
This tournament, open to all nationalities commemorates the birthday of Elizabeth II Queen of England and it is organised by the ex-British Consul Bruce McIntyre and sponsored by the law firm Cotta McKenna and Santafé.
The competition was played stableford with three different categories two British ones for men and ladies; and one for non-British with three individual prices for each. After the game, participants were able to enjoy a refreshing beer and a delicious tapa prepared by the Meson Lauro Golf. The prize giving was held after it and was leaded by the ex-British Consul Bruce Mcintyre and Caddy Master of Lauro Golf Sani Alba, who gave the Queen Elizabeth Cup to the British with the best score, in this occasion was Mr William McMahon with 36 points.
