El día de la cultura finlandesa, recibe el nombre de “Kalevalan päivä” por un famoso libro “Kalevala”, un poema épico compilado por Elias Lönnrot en el siglo XIX a partir de fuentes folclóricas finlandesas, equivalente en español al Cantar de mío Cid, el Kalevala es una de las epopeyas más sugestivas y notables de Europa. Este encuentro andaluz-finlandés contó con una alta participación donde más de un centenar de jugadores dieron buena cuenta de su pasión por el golf. Entre otras muchas nacionalidades destacó la presencia de los escandinavos, en su mayoría finlandeses y noruegos.
La competición, modalidad Stableford individual, con salida desde dos hoyos trascurrió con total normalidad. Al término de ésta, los participantes recibieron una grata sorpresa al otorgárseles una copa de vino de bienvenida y un voucher para una merecida sesión de masaje dentro de las instalaciones del club, de la mano de dos quiromasajistas-osteópatas del centro Quality Center. Esta iniciativa tuvo una muy grata respuesta y contribuyó a reponer las fuerzas para a continuación degustar una paella y un refrigerio.
Los patrocinadores del torneo fueron: Restaurante Hispano-Finlandés Papa Eric, Centro de belleza Solhair, Quality Center, Mariart Design, Librería Hemingway y la colaboración del Museo Picasso.
Se estableció dos categorías:una para finlandeses y otra para el resto de nacionalidades, con cuatro clasificados en cada una. Los ganadores de cada categoría fueron:

Multicultural meeting at Lauro Golf
On Saturday February the 28th the morning arose cold and rainy, but this fact was not an inconvenient for the players to meet at the first tournament held at Lauro Golf celebrating both the day of Finnish culture as the day of Andalusia with the “Kalevalan päivä / Día de Andalucía” competition. Andalusian and Finnish flags were hanging as a symbol of brotherhood that has long joined the Finnish community, with a floating population of approx. 20,000 people in the Costa del Sol, with the Andalusian one. The day of Finnish culture is also known as “Kalevalan päivä" due to the famous book “Kalevala”, an epic poem compiled by Elias Lönnrot in the nineteenth century from Finnish folk sources, and it is equivalent to the Spanish “Cantar de Mio Cid”, the Kalevala is one of the most fascinating and remarkable epics of Europe. This Andalusian-Finnish meeting was a great success with more than a hundred players who gave a good account of their passion for golf. Among many other countries, it could be highlighted the presence of the Scandinavians, mostly Norwegians and Finns.
The competition, individual Stableford modality started from two different holes. After the game, a very pleasant surprise was given to all the participants: a welcoming glass of wine and a voucher for a well deserved massage session within the premises of the club, given by the hand two osteopaths and therapeutic masseurs from “Quality Center”. This initiative has a great response and helped to help the players to recover, in order to enjoy an exquisite paella and a refreshing beverage.
The sponsors of this competition were: the Spanish-Finnish restaurant Papa Erig, Solhair Beauty Center, Quality Center, Mariart Design, Hemingway Bookshop and the collaboration of the Picasso museum.
