Tras el juego, los participantes pudieron disfrutar de un delicioso buffet preparado por el Mesón Lauro Golf, a la vez que se deleitaban con la actuación del grupo musical británico “Tapas”, que ofreció una actuación con canciones clásicas del vodevil británico ataviados con los trajes típicos para la ocasión.
La entrega de premios fue realizada al finalizar el espectáculo por el Cónsul Británico Bruce Mcintyre y la Caddy Master de Lauro Golf Melissa Gallardo. En cuanto a los ganadores del torneo, hemos de destacar el triunfo femenino, ya que la primera y segunda clasificadas, de hecho, fueron señoras. La ganadora de la Copa de la Reina fue Angela Wheeler, con 42 puntos que recibió el premio de manos del ganador del año pasado Mike Widdopp. La segunda clasificada fue Jackie White con 39 puntos que se mostró muy emocionada por el triunfo. El tercer clasificado fue William Lewis que hizo un fantástico partido consiguiendo 38 puntos. El premio al mejor jugador no británico fue a parar a Jesús Sierra Jiménez con 39 puntos.
IV QUEEN ELIZABETH CUP IN LAURO GOLF On Saturday 3rd of May it was celebrated the big british day at Lauro Golf. This one has been already the fourth edition of the “Queen Elizabeth Cup” y we wish to emphasize above everything else the fantastic atmosphere that was breathed in the Golf Club of Alhaurin de la Torre.
This tournament, open to all nationalities, has been held every year on the occasion of the commemoration of the birthday of Elizabeth II Queen of England and it is organised by the British Consulate and sponsored by the law firm Cotta McKenna and Santafé.
The competition was played stableford with three individual awards for the of the British and another for the non-British category, as well as a prize for the nearest the pin that went to the hands of the spaniard Salvador Ferrer.
