I Torneo Hispano-Finlandés Vappu

Casi medio centenar de jugadores se congregaron el pasado 30 de Abril en Lauro Golf para conmemorar el I Torneo Hispano-Finlandés “Vappu”. Su nombre se lo debe a que la celebración del 1 de Mayo se ha convertido en fiesta nacional en Finlandia, llegando a ser uno de los mayores festejos del país. Con la festividad del Vappu se celebra el comienzo de la primavera y  tiene lugar la víspera, la noche del 30 de abril, cuando Havis Amanda, la estatua de una sirena que está cerca del mercado de Helsinki, es bañada en champaña y adornada con un gorro blanco, un cautivador ritual que se repite con estatuas por todo el país. Lauro Golf cuenta entre sus abonados con un gran número de finlandeses, y es por ello por lo que ha querido rendirles homenaje con esta competición.

La competición comenzó a las 9 de la mañana con salida desde un hoyo, de modalidad stableford y contando con tres categorías, una masculina y una femenina con tres premios en cada una y una categoría finlandesa.
Durante el recorrido Lauro Golf quiso obsequiar a todos los participantes quienes recibieron una bolsa-picnic para hacerles más agradable la jornada, que de por sí fue soleada y cálida. A la finalización de éste se procedió a la entrega de premios que fue llevada a cabo por la caddie master Sani Alba acompañada de Regina Garrido Directora de ventas de Villa Padierna.
Gracias a la colaboración de Villa Padierna Thermas de Carratraca, Restaurante Papa Eric, Restaurante Garum Marbella y Restaurante El Chaparral, se otorgaron unos fantásticos premios con estancias, circuitos termales y diversos almuerzos y cenas.
Entre los ganadores destacó la presencia de Uli Stieliker ex-jugador del Real Madrid que quedó en primera posición al conseguir 41 puntos.

Categoría Finlandesa
1.- Risto Ranta  hcp. 11.5 33 puntos

Para concluir la jornada, los jugadores repusieron energías degustando un delicioso dulce finlandés que es típico en esta festividad llamado tippaleivät, despidiéndose así  con un buen sabor de boca.

I  Hispano-Finlandés Vappu Tournament

Almost fifty people gathered round last Wednesday 30th of april at Lauro Golf to celebrate the I Spanish-Finnish “Vappu” Tounament. It receives its name from the celebration of May the 1st, now a national feast day in Finland, and also one of the most popular. With “Vappu” we celebrate the arrival of spring and its begins the eve, as Havis Amanda, the mermaid statue close to Helsinki’s main market, is showered in champagne and dressed with a white cap, ritual also followed on statues all over Finaland.

Among Lauro Golf members and players we find  a great number of finns and this is the main reason why Lauro wished to celebrate this competition as a special hommage to them.

The tourmament started at around 9:00am from one hole, stableford modality, and with three categories, one for gentlemen, one for ladies each with three prizes and one for the best finnish player.

During the game Lauro Golf offered each participant a midmorning pic-nic bag, to encourage  the players even more in the warm and sunny spring day we enjoyed. After the arrival of the last player.

At the end of the day took place the prize living performed by the Caddy Master Sani Alba and Regina Garrido, Sales Manager of Villa Padierna.

Thanks to the sponsor of  Villa Padierna Thermas de Carratraca, Papa Eric Restaurant, Garum Restaurant Marbella y Restaurante El Chaparral, the prizes were fantastic with weekend stays, termal circuits and meal vouchers.

Above all the winners we had Uli Stieliker ex-Real Madrid football player that finished the first one with 41 points.
